Greetings,
We host a service desk on Jira and we had set up Slack notifications since March 2026. They were working fine until 4th of September 2026 where we received the last notification.
I tried managing the configuration through Slack and Jira, everything seemed healthy. I tried changing a bit the config of the notifications but with no luck. We tried creating dummy requests to invoke notifications but nothing worked.
Afterwards I tried reconnecting the project to the Slack channel with `/jira connect` command inside the Slack channel. It reported as if the project was successfully added and that's where weirdness began.
I cannot configure Slack integration no more, it just shows a warning icon whenever I try to enter Slack integration settings either in space settings or in project directly.
Also I cannot remove and re-add the Jira integration from the Slack channel (or at least I couldn't find an easy way to do so without removing the Jira slack app entirely from Slack workspace).
Anyone encountered anything similar? Are there solutions to this? Also I noticed that when I run `/jira manage` it actually shows the same project listed twice, which makes sense because I used `/jira connect` two times in that chat in total (first time in March and then September).
Thanks in advance for any assistance
[UPDATE1]
I managed to see the configuration page one from the URL the Jira Slack integration created by repeatedly clicking on it until it worked. Then I configured notifications and tested again, but nothing. Then I was again unable to see the configuration page again. Only the warning icon.
[UPDATE2]
I uninstalled Jira app from Slack entirely, then re-installed it. Afterwards I re-added it to the Slack channel, run the connect command, shows as added. Configuration again doesn't work, same behavior as before.
The issue was fixed by doing the following:
1. https://<yoursite>.atlassian.net/plugins/servlet/ac/jira-slack-integration/addon-config-page
2. Toggle off-on the Slack integration
3. Allow the domain your Slack workspace is trying to access Jira from
4. Now (not sure if it was because of the above steps or just letting time pass by) the Slack integration configuration page is working. Get to it.
5. Make sure you choose a Security level (chose both) amongst other stuff
6. Test that it works by creating a dummy ticket
So it seems the slack integration worked for 6 months.
One possible reason that it stopped working is that the API key for the integration expired after 6 months. If that is so, rotating the key will help.
