Anyone else spotted the Status field has moved?

Atlassian have made yet another BAD stealth change!

The Status field is now fixed in the 'Description fields' section.

This makes no sense - it gets totally lost (especially for grey statuses) and can't be moved back to the logical place where it's always sat!!

Myself and my team are NOT impressed

Unfortunatly this is not a bug but something that was intentionally changed.

They seemingly did not apply this change to Jira Service Management, so now it's inconsistent across apps...

Yes, and...to what the others posted, in the many pages of feedback to Atlassian about this UX change, here is the link to the suggestion to modify the change to make it configurable.  You may watch / vote for it to see progress.

The is awful. We should have the choice to have it be wherever we want it, like all the other fields.

Give us the right to move it back.  many users have raised a ticket for our admins to move it back and we cannot.  Its LOCKED.  Please remove this lock and allow us the control of field placement

Ever since the main menu and sidebar changes a lot of changes have been for the worse. The interface is getting more and more cluttered and messy.

The status field was in the correct spot where it was together with all the ticket details. Please move it back or give an option to change it back ourselves.

In our company, I've had so many people come to me and ask change it back, when i explained this was Atlassian their look is pure bafflement.

We are all now endlessly scrolling tickets to change status.

@Debbie Jolley however on JSM project, the transition button remains still in its original place. I really think it's a bug. On their blog https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/blog/2025/09/atlassian-cloud-changes-sep-22-to-sep-29-2025 I didn't find anything about this change.

interestingly my sandbox hasn't changed either

yeah I didn't remember reading anything about it in any updates.

I've raised a bug with Atlassian so hopefully they'll sort it out asap

In my Product group, we're not happy with this change because we have to scroll to the top of the Jira issue to see its status. Previously, user had the ability to make it part of the 'Context' field or 'Description field' and teams chose which area they wanted it to display in. I do not understand why Jira fixed its location with this recent release! Please change it back to its previous state. Thank you!
