This isn't about linking a JIRA issue to a SD ticket, but rather the use case where one user has both open software tasks/bugs/etc. in addition to open service desk requests — it'd be nice to see both types on one dashboard as opposed to checking both separately.
Might be something to note: we use the Atlassian suite at an enterprise level.
Hi @Annie ,
I did some more digging last night and found more in formation for you. It is possible to have a "federated" system where there are multiple separate instances that are connected and inter operable. More information is available via that link, your systems people may be able to help get it set up. You can also reach out to one of the many Atlassian partners that offer consulting services, they would be able to help as well.
I've never worked with a federated system, but based on what I read yesterday it may help solve your problem.

Edit:
@Annie here's another thought...you can use a plug-in app like Backbone-Sync and set up a server instance that is a consolidation of all the other instances; the separate instances would "feed" the consolidated instance so you can see all of the issues in one place. You would need the app installed (and licensed) on all the instances, which could get pricey if you have a lot of users, but it may be worth checking out.
Alrighty, after discussing with our systems people it turns out everything is on different servers (which makes sense given our organization's responsibilities I guess).
The only way to do it that we know of is to put everything on one server — but that can't happen. Any other ideas?

No, it will only work with projects being shared by one server or a datacenter cluster.

Hi @Annie
If you can build a filter for it you can show it in a dashboard. You'd use "project in (JS Project Name, JSD Project Name) And...." to pull the projects into the filter, save it, then when you create the dashboard use the new filter in the dashboard gadgets. You can also use the filter for a Kanban or Scrum board.
This works for me in the Cloud version, I imagine it would work at the server or data center level as well.
