Any way in the system audit log (not rule audit log) to see who disabled an automation?

We have a super-high priority automation rule that covers a lot of projects.   Somehow this got turned off by someone, but I don't know who.   Is there any record I could see on this?   It doesn't show of course in the automation audit log as it didn't run to fail or succeed since disabled.

I am the owner of the rule, and I get emailed if it fails.   I am also the only one allowed to edit the rule.   I think (Correct me if I am wrong) that any project admin has the ability to turn off / on a rule in their project.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi Gail,

If you look at the Audit Log for the Rule, it should tell you who made a Config change, including if the rule was disabled.

Wonderful.   I didn't think it would show enable/disables.   Thanks.

I think it is something fairly recently that they have added. But it is indeed super helpful!

Hi @Gail

The only users who can turn of a multi-project rule are other jira admins or trusted users. If any audit log was to show it I believe it would be the one on admin.atlassian.com but if it doesn't I would recommend checking how many Jira Admins or Trusted users your instance has

Users that have elevated access may have been trying to turn it off for their project and not be aware how multi-project rules work.

If no one fesses up you could always implement a required training for all admins.

Best,

Clark

Thanks so much Clark.

This is interesting as we have no trusted users and only 3 jira/site admins including myself.   I would definitely say one of the projects doesn't want the rule as it was implemented by our QA group.  I'm sure this group did not explain to them what it was for and what it does.

I'll see if I can find something in the admin.atlassian.com log.

Site Admins and Jira Admins are two different things. jira admins is it's own group. Site admins is more for billing etc (amongst other thins)
