An exception occured when access a board

Dear Atlassian Support Team,

I am facing an issue when trying to display a board. It seems a javascript exception is raised.

I found that form to report the issue. Please, don't hesisate to tell me if I have to report the issue using another bug report system.

Before contacting you, I have tried to find if similar issues are already submitted. I have found one (Existing issue). But, it isn't the same problem.

After some investigations, I can state the problem only occures when using the french language. The issue occures with all the browsers (firefox, chrome, safari). The board has one custom column name and custom swimlanes.

I have tried to clear the cache of the browser in case it helps to fix the issue. But it doesn't.

Hi Jonathan,

I think you're running into this issue, probably:

• JSWSERVER-15185

It seems to be affecting users with the French language instead of English.

A user called Mickaël has a fix in this comment. I would recommend giving it a try if you would like but be advised it's not an official workaround so you could run into issues there. You could try it first on a staging environment if you want to be sure.

At the moment, there is no official fix provided by Atlassian. But the issue has been reported to the team : SWSERVER-15185. I may suggest you monitor the ticket in order to be notified about updates.

Depending on how many users are impacted, you may apply some workaround suggested in comments of the ticket.

As Jonathan mentioned, we are aware of it and currently working on a fix. Watching the bug will update you of any progress. A user called Mickaël has come up with a fix by editing the JAR file himself, and you could try it, but I would use it at your own risk, as it's not an official workaround:

Thank you for your help. I am pleased to know someone has already reported the bug.

It is a major issue for us. Fortunately, some workarounds exist (other language, unofficial patch). In another hand, I am sure Atlassian will provide an official fix soon. The team is quite reactive.

I will wait a few days to see what happens next. If it becomes critical, I will try to apply the unofficial workaround.

Thank you for your understanding, Jonathan. It appears to be a very widespread bug so I do hope to see a resolution soon for you.

There's also some comments from other users on which edits you can make in your JAR file to fix it now, but I would only test this on a staging instance as it can be quite risky to directly edit the files like that.

If you watch the case, as I am, you'll receive emails anytime there is any update available on the bug.
