Allowing Third Party Issue Types to Follow Standard Workflows

I use a third party software that connects with Jira but the issue type that imports into Jira does not follow the universal workflow that the standard (bug, stories, tasks, content, etc) issue types use.

Is there some coding or modifications I can implement that will allow these additional issues (shotgun assets) to be allowed to follow the workflow of the standard-issue types.

Hi @RODRAVIAN MURRAY ,

I'm not sure I understand the use case. Do you want a new issue type (other than the standard) to follow an existing workflow? If so, you can associate a workflow to an issue type as described here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-workflow-schemes/

Hello @RODRAVIAN MURRAY

Welcome to the community.

Are you working with a Team Managed or Company Managed project?

In a Company Managed project there will be a Workflow Scheme associated with the project. In that scheme Workflows will be associated to issue types, and there will be one Workflow designated as the Default to be used by any issue type that has not been explicitly linked to a different Workflow.

If this is a Company Managed project, can you examine the Workflow Scheme for it and see if the Shotgun Assets issue type is explicitly linked to the same workflow as your "standard" issue types, or if they are all utilizing the Default Workflow in that scheme? Can you post an image of what you see?
