Is there a way for alerts to be sent out to certain people when i project moves into a certain column of the Kanban board?? I know alerts are sent out on all movement if someone is watching the project as a whole. But we have someone who only needs alerted when the project moves into the section pertaining to her.
@Andrea Miller, welcome to the community. First I want to note that "projects" don't move between columns but rather "issues" do. Alerts, or rather notifications are configured a the project level based on the action. If you are an admin you can change the settings as desired by going to the project in questions then Project settings > Notifications. In your outlined case you want to change the permission for the Generic Event as a generic event is fired (unless someone has removed from the workflow) for all transitions.
Please let me know if this does not make sense. Cheers...
Hi there, thank you for the clarification of names. I don't think we are talking about the same thing though? I could be misunderstanding. I am wondering if there is a way to get a notification when it moves into a certain column? I don't want notifications about the whole piece, just when it enters a certain part of the process.

Columns = Statuses, movements between columns equate to transitions between statuses. If you want to only get notified when moving from a specific status to another specific status then you should consider using automation. I haven’t set this specific scenario up TBH and there are other ways to achieve but won’t recommend here based on the little bit I know of your requirements. The reason I recommend automation is that you can be very specific with the notification scenario without breaking notifications for others. While you may be able to achieve with the built in automation if not you certainly can using something like the Automation for Jira Lite addon.
