Hi, I'm new to Jira and I'd like to track very easy business tasks, so I started with default settings.
I created an issue, then set its status to "Done". I expected that the "Resolution" would be "Resolved", but it isn't. There's also no way to change the "Resolution" field in the issue details.
I know it's a simple question but surprisingly I didn't find any clear information about this. How to change the "Resolution" field to "Resolved"?
I found the solution!
I created a new project of type "Company-managed business" (instead of Team-managed business), and it works well (weird!).
So I think the hint for newbies like me would be "Don't create Team-managed projects, create Company-managed projects".

You need to set the resolution on the issue to make it resolved. The standard way to do this is to have a transition screen that includes the resolution field on all the transitions that take the issue into a closed status (you can also do it with a post-function, and you should have a post-function that clears the resolution when an issue is reopened)
TLDR: you need to edit your workflow

Thank you for the feedback!
I'm surprised that such a very basic thing requires some advanced skills so I feel a bit stupid.
I opened the workflow by clicking this link
and found the "Transition" screen.
I found the transition into the final "DONE" state, but there's nothing related to "Resolution".
I also tried adding the Resolution named "DONE" in Settings - Issues - Resolutions, but that didn't help.
Do you know if there is a step-by-step instruction (with pictures!) how to do this?

I found this instruction: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/jira-issues-need-a-resolution-826873869.html
But I do not see anything in Settings - Issues - Workflows in the "Active workflows" tab! The inactive workflows do not seem to be related to this simple workflow with 3 states.
Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
