Hey everyone,
We've run into a strange UI issue on our Jira Cloud instance and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
When any of our users try to link an issue, the "Search for issues using advanced search" option that normally appears at the bottom of the search dropdown is completely missing. We can see recent issues, but the option to use a JQL query is gone.
This is a major roadblock for our teams, as we rely on using specific filters to find and link issues efficiently.
Here's what we've tried so far:
Confirmed it's instance-wide: The issue affects all users, not just one person.
Ruled out browser issues: We've tested in Chrome and Firefox, used incognito/private windows, and cleared all cache and cookies. The problem persists.
Checked Atlassian Status: status.atlassian.com shows no active incidents that seem related.
Our next step is to investigate potential conflicts with Marketplace Apps, but before we go down that road, we wanted to ask the community:
Has anyone else seen this happen before?
We'd appreciate any insights or potential workarounds you might have.
Thanks for your help!
Hi @Tariq Ali ,
Welcome to the Community! I see the option to use JQL to find Jiras to be linked in the Jira Data Center, but not in the Cloud. I believe Jira Cloud doesn’t support JQL-powered pickers in the link dialog.
Hi Tariq - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I don't see a way to do an advanced search either - but I never did use that so not sure if it was ever there and now it is gone. I do see there is an AI both that auto searches so maybe that functionality replaced it.
You'll probably need to open a support ticket with Atlassian to find out for sure. If you do, please report the findings/solutions back here.

Best of luck!
