Advanced Roadmaps Teams vs Jira Groups: Are these different?

Hi all - I went to create a roadmap, added a Team and saw the option to add an existing Team. I was hoping this would allow me to create a team based on a Jira group but that doesn't appear to be the case. Am I missing something? Seems like it would be useful to leverage pre-existing teams/groups outside of Roadmaps for this.

A change is currently rolling out to make the shared teams of Advanced Roadmaps and the teams you see under People in your overall navigation in Atlassian tools one and the same thing. You can read more about that change in this community article.

Having said that, teams and groups are still different, unrelated concepts. Very recently, a suggestion to further explore a better integration has been added. You can track and vote for that here: JRACLOUD-80976.
