Adding or changing the filter for issues insid the release page

Sura Al-Jailawi August 4, 2024

Hi,

We are using the release to track our release for businesses in Jira, but we need some modifications or additions to the current filter of the issues inside the release page itself

e.g. as the default, we can filter on only 3 statuses, to do, in progress, and done.

we have customer workflow status for our company and projects so we need others here

------------------------------------------------------

another thing: is there a way that we can re-order the issue inside the release page also?

so we want to enhance the view to make the story within its subtake and subdivide view?

Thank you in advance for any support or help.

Hi @Sura Al-Jailawi

if you're open so solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-upsconditional formatting, or issue ranking via drag and drop.

With these, you can build a view like e.g. this in just a couple of clicks:

release-page-alt.gif

As every sheet in JXL is powered by a JQL query or a saved filter, you have full control over which issues are shown in your sheet. As you can see above, you can always tweak this selection via quick-and-easy column filtering.

What you see above is really just one of a virtually endless number of possible views and reports; you can also view and group by any other issue fields, configure different sum-up styles, etc. etc.

Any questions just let me know,

Best,

Hannes

Hi @Sura Al-Jailawi

Those changes are not possible with the built-in features of the releases page / list.

There are several open suggestions to add such features, such as the ones below.  You may watch / vote for them to see any progress.  One of those is marked as "fixed" but you could use it to recommend additional suggestions with a new one.

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-18748

As an alternative, you could either investigate the Atlassian Marketplace for other release management addons, or use saved filters and a Jira Dashboard to display the issues.

Kind regards,
Bill
