Adding issues to a release that are not in the 'Done' column

Diana Remache December 1, 2023

Hello everyone, hopefully, you can help me with this question:

When releasing a version via the board, the default functionality is to release all issues in that version that are 'Done' (i.e. in the right-most column of the board). Can we change this configuration so the release includes all issues from another column in my Kanban board that is not the right-most column, for example, Merged to main?

Thank you!

Hi @Diana Remache

Not that I know of - this help page confirms:

In a Kanban project, releasing a version via the board will release all issues in that version that are 'Done' (i.e. in the right-most column of the board).

You can release a version with multiple Statuses though from the "Release" page - instructions on how to do this are also on that help page:

To release a version:

  1. From your project’s sidebar, select Releases.

  2. Select the version from the list.

  3. In the top-right, select the version’s current status (for example, Unreleased) and then select Release.

  4. Choose what to do with any unresolved issues, and enter a release date.

  5. Select Release.

Hi @Diana Remache welcome to the community.  You could simply add the same fixVersion to the issues you also wish to include in your Release.

Oh, hadn't thought about that, thanks, Craig!
