Hi, and my apologies as I am really new to Jira modification I have created a custom field using the select cascading option. Now I feel like I am missing something major but how do I actually populate my lists with the values for a user to select?
Do i have to do it with a code upload or is there a WYSIWYG editor for this? I can't seem to find the option or an answer in the help pages?
You should have been presented the option at the time of creation but not to worry you can edite after the fact. Go to Jira settings > Issues > Custom fields and find you field. On the right you will see ellipses, click there and select Contexts and default values then click on the edit in the next screen.
AHHHHH, I hadn't set a context and therefore couldn't see the option for changing the options.
This worked, thank you :)

This is great, thank you Jack.
How would I leverage cascading fields to address:
Product Area -> Function -> Feature?

Unfortunately with Jira you are limited to two levels. I do wish it supported 3.

Jack,
Thanks for the prompt response. I've solved that problem by using longer cascading names on the 2nd level.
Now comes the interesting part of setting up a rule that assigns the ticket to a development team based on the cascaded field selected.
For example:
Integrations>SalesForce should automatically get assigned to team BearClaw
Analytics>Reporting should automatically get assigned to team Px
