Adding a validator to a workflow transition to make a field required

I need to require a few custom fields during a workflow transition. The documentation I am finding is showing to add a validator which I remember seeing in the past but I can't find it now and it doesn't match the screenshots I am seeing.  Ex: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/manage-how-work-flows-in-your-team-managed-project/

How do I implement this now? I can only see to add rules to the workflow transition now but it seems very limited in it's capabilities.

Hi Jessica,

Team-managed projects in Jira don't currently have a way to require fields during transitions like company-managed projects do.

There's a feature request open for this though: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-26434

You can vote for it and add your comments to help Atlassian prioritise it!

In the meantime, you could consider switching to a company-managed project if that functionality is essential.
