Adding Confluence to Project Pages vs Add Shortcut vs ????????

joe stewart August 24, 2021

I am unable to find a 'how to' document when it comes to adding Confluence to Project Pages.

The material I found was missing attachments/images, so couldn't make 'heads or tails' of it.

Does it make sense to add the Confluence link to the 'Add Shortcut', and beyond that, just link the confluence page directly to the tickets?

I don't understand how adding it to the Project Pages is any different than just adding the link to the add shortcut, and linking the correct Confluence pages to the tickets themselves.

I'm hoping there is a document to cover these questions.

Hi @joe stewart

Please see this documentation https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/enable-and-disable-pages/

The main difference between the two you mention in that:

  • Links are just "links". You can add anything you want. From confluence pages, to other URLs
  • Project pages links your project to a confluence space
    • Instead of leaving the project view, you are able to see all pages within Jira
    • You can add new confluence pages on the fly

These two serve a "different" need, although as stated you can add confluence links to your project links.

Hope all the above help.

Alex
