Add linked issue when subtask converted to issue?

Currently when a subtask is converted to an issue, there is a history entry made indicating who the Parent issue was.  I would like to make it more obvious by adding a "Linked Issue" like "cloned from' or some new linked issue type and point it to the parent issue.  I can add it with scriptrunner but I was wondering if there was a simpler solution?

I guess there is no simpler solution or cool plugin to use other than scriptrunner.
BTW, scriptrunner is very cool but .... wink
