Add Service Desk Customer as Watcher to a Jira Software Project

Is it possible to add a Jira Service Desk Customer as a watcher to a Jira Software Project?

We manage some project tasks as a Jira Software Project. And I want to be able to add a colleague, who isn't a Jira Software User but a Jira Service Desk Customer, as a watcher to the Jira Software Project. 

I already gave the premission "Browse Project" to "Service desk customer - portal access". But this isn't working.

No you cannot do this. To be a “Watcher” for any project they must have a paid license. JSD Customers are non-paid and do not have application access. Customers can only  a “Request Participant” for the JSD project(s) they are customers of.

The other possibility would be, to make your project public. But this isn't any option for us.
