Add Approval option for Jira Workflow Status

Hello! I have a Jira project, Project Type is Business (not sure if it matters). I am working on a workflow and I do not have the option to check the box for "Add approval.", that option is not even there. What am I missing? I have another project and I do have that option to check.

Approvals is only available in JSM projects on DC. You could work around it by using circular transitions and automations, I wrote about it in this article. My solution was done in a Cloud environment, but you can recreate the same thing on DC.

Sorry, do you mean this option is only available in Project Type of Service?

Correct, approvals are a Jira Service Management feature only. For Jira you would have to either use an app or use the workflow workaround I described in the article.
