Acronyms in the name of existing Workflows

Hi community! I want to add an existing Worflow to my project. All Workflows start with an acronym, like AG, AS, GST, SDG, SOP, etc.

There seems to be copies of the same workflow but named differently, starting with the different acronym.

So what do those acronyms mean?

Thanks!

There's no way for us to know why the admins creating these workflows have chosen these codes.

However, the default behaviour for Jira is to name a workflow after the project, (if you're creating projects with new workflows), so my guess is that it's quite likely the letters are project keys (also, most admins will forget to rename or remove workflows if they delete or re-key a workflow, so don't expect the list to match your project list!)

Hi @alvatros ,

Those are Jira project keys. They help to map out which workflow is for which project by placing it in the workflow name.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Ben
