Shutdown reminder: External Assets Platform

PLEASE NOTE: The ‘External Assets Platform’ is separate from Assets in Jira Service Management. Assets, including its ‘external imports’ import type, will remain unaffected by this change.

Hello Community!

As we’re nearing the shutdown date for the deprecated External Asset Platform, we wanted to provide another reminder that starting from 31st December 2024, the platform and it’s related components (including custom fields) will be gradually removed.

What This Means for You

Shutting down the ‘External Assets Platform’ means:

• Related custom fields will be removed and will no longer show in Jira, and any JQL using these fields will cease to function.

• The REST API will no longer be available, all existing apps or integrations built using those APIs will cease to work after the shutdown.

• All related data currently stored will be deleted. The Atlassian Data Retention policies will be adhered to.

Support and Guidance

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make this shift. To facilitate a smoother transition, we have developed a custom script designed to backup data from the External Assets Platform, along with optional instructions on how to migrate this data to Assets in Jira Service Management.
