Please bring this back! I have to review dozens of tickets daily for approval, and now I have to open them all individually to see them. Half the screen is filled with information that does nothing. I have half a screen of Jira because of this change!

This sucks only because you are forcing us to use this view. The previous one was perfect for my teams workflow. At least give us the option to switch between views...

This is a huge downgrade!!!

it is a disaster to work now without the Detail View, as i cannot see the whole ticket comfortably and now need to scroll and scroll to try to see the whole ticket (because the maximum width of the Preview makes everything in the ticket in one column, and not as a proper ticket: main part of ticket and its right sidebar) and still have the list of the tickets on the left size.

it is either extra clicks to fully open the tickets or uncomfortable possibility to check the ticket details with forever scrolling.

This update makes the work in Jira only worse and inefficient for all the teams and now instead of development we spend more and more time to use jira - a support tool for our main work!!!!

Only being able to extend the ticket details to half the screen width hugely limits the utility of opening up a ticket in the first place (especially if media is embedded in the description), and the side-scrollable list view behind the new detail panel is much harder to read at a glance compared to the previous state where the important details like summary, assignee, and priority where wrapped into easily readable cards and not hidden below the current ticket details.

Being able to toggle between this, or having the list, and opening a single ticket in full screen, while retaining the option to navigate between tickets with the arrows next to the ticket link was very convenient and is no longer possible where seemingly the only option to view a ticket in full is to open a new tab, which is unable to switch to other issues in the original search - this does increase the need to manage separate tabs rather than reducing it.

This change was rolled out (FORCED) to us. The experience is simply awful. The toggle between the List and Detail view just disappeared. People are wasting so much time unsuccessfully trying to get the old view back, and we are getting so many support tickets from users.
People are used to the Detail View and now they can't switch back. The new view limits the area allocated to quickly review a work item in the same screen. The resize option has a limited width, making the experience less productive. Now we have to open work items in new tabs to have a better view, which is contrary to what Atlassian said they are improving. You can see in the screenshots in this article that users have way more working area when they select an item in the old view. People with small laptops are suffering the most.
We really don't like this change. Unfortunately, we are not expecting Atlassian to do anything about it because they never do. Once they roll out (IMPOSE) a change, there is no going back even when clients don't like it.

This forced change is terrible. I don't even see the layout button to change the behavior. All my custom JSQL lists are affected, only the default built-in lists can show me the the full page view but then they give too much info.

A general increase in time wasting. It's not like you're measuring success by time spent connected or number of clicks, right ?

Please add an option to bring back the full list view or disable the preview pane. For my workflow I rarely if ever used the detail view, and do not plan to use this preview pane view; it is choppy, cramped and laggy in our instance.

It does not fit my workflow I have been using for 10+ years, in fact consider it a regression that has broken my usual workflow. I used to be able to open a filtered issue in full screen, where there would be up and down arrow carrots to navigate through the filtered issues (or use 'j' and 'k' hotkey) to see and make changes with full context. I cannot figure out how to get full screen issue view in this new UI where I can have similar behavior to easily step through all the filtered issues in full screen anymore.

Echoing the above, we are not happy with this. Please allow us to toggle to the previous UI.

PLEASE give us a way to turn this off and return to the previous full-screen view. For those of us who are frequently reviewing lists of 100s of issues at once, the extra clicks and scrolling this has added makes this process incredibly unpleasant and take a lot longer. This is very much not an improvement to our daily workflows, and for the regular use-cases we have, it is a much worse user experience.

Key issues:
- I can't see enough of the issue on screen to easily view and edit all the fields I need to in one go without having to scroll.
- The panel does not remember the previous size (even though comments above say it will) and has to be re-sized every time, and still cannot go big enough.
- With larger lists of issues, Jira is frequently freezing when I try to open this panel.

Hi, Atlassian, do you have a solution for this irritating bug?

I have a filter - I clicked ticket key and seen the details, plus right side detail panel.

Now, with this current bug, I click the ticket key and the ticket opens in the right panel.... leaving no space for the ticket itself "right, details, panel". And the ticket grid (of the filter) occupies 80% of screen,

forcing me to seek for a button to open a ticket in full panel (new window/tab unfortunately to make things even worse).

This lenghtens everything, making me open dozens of tabs, and double clicks.... a horror.

When you will fix this and return to original functionality?

Hello,

Is there a way to have the same behavior as the Queues, where the sidebar opens when clicked on  the sidebar  icon, but when clicked on the issue Key or Summary, it opens the issue fullscreen in the same tab. Please

Creating an account here just to echo the sentiment expressed above: this has ruined my workflow and added so much unnecessary friction, I have resorted to adjusting elements in the browser console just to bring back a fraction of the previous functionality. My workflow involves viewing 100s of bugs in a day. All I needed was a list, with the details nicely visible in a separate panel on the side. In a word: detail view. Whatever barely-resizable monstrosity Atlassian has patted themselves on the back for coming up with this time is untenable. The panels are either too large (the list) or too small (the details), and forget about it if you have a smaller screen. I shouldn't have to resort to "hacking" the browser just to do my job, when it was previously just fine and had, in one way or another, worked for over a decade. This "upgrade" is not "more convenient and efficient", but absolutely the opposite. The "comments to likes" ratio on this article says it all. Bring back the option to use detail view.

For those who would like to make the preview panel larger try the following CSS change (can be applied using any user CSS browser extension, for example Stylus on the Chrome web store):

[data-testid='preview-panels.preview-panel'] {

    min-width: 200%;
}
@media(max-width: 1120px) and (min-width:1024px) {
    [data-testid='preview-panels.preview-panel'] {
        min-width: 68vw;
    }
}
@media(max-width: 1023px) and (min-width:200px) {
    [data-testid='preview-panels.preview-panel'] {
        min-width: 100%;
    }
}

Hard deterioration, I always used the Detailed view to work on tickets. I cannot get any overview with this new preview. Need to scroll endlessly to read everything. Why change an established view to worse ? Please bring back the old view, this change makes work a lot harder.

Hi there.

Echoing, the other sentiment here. Please can you revert to the old way, or provide an option to toggle the old way? It is not good that the view now looks like an excel sheet, when I want it to process 100s of tickets a day.

The old view was so much better..You could click on a work item and then see a nice full screen display from the list view and then use the arrows to change work items or you could switch to detail view to bring the side panel..

This is a step in the wrong direction. What on earth is up with Atlassian UI teams rolling out these forced changes without the option of a toggle to turn it off if we want to?

I'm not sure I understand the benefit of this change compare to the floating full screen window, but let's assume it is good. Can you please allow direct access to issue editing features like the "add attachment"? It is literally the only feature I'm missing in that view, and it is hidden. Thanks

I've already written to Atlassian support about this, and they made it clear that they have no interest in customer opinions or user experience. That has been clear for a while though, such as with the renaming of "tickets" to "work items" (absolutely no customer ever called these tickets "work items", nor will they ever).
