🚀 Introducing Jira Planner: now in early access

Image 1.jpgWe're excited to share that Jira Planner is now open for Early Access. It's the missing layer between what your team decides to build and how your agents execute it, guiding you from a rough idea to a structured, agent-ready plan without ever leaving Jira.

Jira Planner is particularly useful for tech leads, senior engineers, engineering managers, and PMs working on architectural decisions, multi sprint features, or any work where the team needs to agree on scope before implementation begins.

A few things we think you'll love:

  • Start with a rough idea. No need to arrive with a finished spec. Jira Planner asks follow up questions to help clarify scope, constraints, and what success should look like.image-20260814-052316.jpg
  • Build the plan on real context. Planner uses context from your connected repositories, including multi repository setups, and Teamwork Graph. That helps the plan reflect your architecture, ownership, and decisions your team has already made.image-20260814-052337.jpg

  • Your whole team plans together. Planner creates editable Confluence Live Docs, where engineers, PMs, and designers can comment, co edit, and work through trade offs while the plan is still taking shape.image-20260814-052604.jpg

  • Check what is missing before work begins. Planner flags ambiguity and helps you see whether the spec is detailed enough for execution.image-20260814-052644.jpg

  • Plans become agent-ready work. When the plan is ready, Planner breaks it into sequenced Jira work items with dependencies, acceptance criteria, and the context agents need to get started.image-20260814-052543.jpg

How to Get Started

Jira Planner is currently available in Early Access for eligible Jira Cloud customers. You will need Rovo enabled, Teamwork Graph connected, and Confluence available on the same site.
