Why an error when adding custom or existing URL field to support widget?

Why error? This is under Request Management > Request Types. I created a custom field in our request form for users to submit the URL of the page they are on.

I tried to use the existing field "URL of issue page" and it also gave an error. This error disappears our "?" and eliminates our widget completely. How to fix this?

Goal: users need to submit the URL of the page they are experiencing their issue, and I currently use a generic text field for this however users type in wrong data, so I want to force a true URL like this field is meant to require.

wait...this above link addresses the widget fields email question, but does not address why a custom field "URL" is not working. I need to know what i did wrong in the above screenshot as you will see an error.

Hi Blake,

To reiterate from the earlier post, the URL field is currently not supported. The following fields are supported at this time:

  • System fields: Summary, Description, Priority, Components, Fix Version/s, Attachments
  • Custom fields: Single & multi line text, Single & multi select, Radio, Checkbox

Regards,
Anusha A

Hmm, I guess I am confused as to why it appears as a selectable field in that case. thank you.
