We have JSM premium and we would like to import Intune assets in JSM via Data Manager.

There is an adapter available in the Data Manager Jobs section.

Is there any guide or step by step tutorial to achieve this ?

thanks

Hi @Baris Sehitoglu  👋🏻

First of all, welcome to community! ✨

Importing Intune assets into JSM using Data Manager Job requires setting up an API connection through MS Entra ID (Azure AD), configuring the Data Manager Job, and mapping the data to your Assets Schemas.

You can follow the below steps:

  1. Set up Entra/Azure ID
    • Go to the Microsoft Azure Portal.
    • Navigate to Microsoft Entra ID --> App registrations --> New registration. Give it a descriptive name.
    • Go to API permissions --> Add a permission and select Microsoft Graph.
    • Under Application permissions (not delegated), add the required read permissions, such as DeviceManagementApps.Read.All or device read permissions.
    • Grant admin consent for these permissions.
    • Go to Certificates & secrets and create a new client secret. Copy the secret value immediately as it will not be shown again.
  2. Configure the Data Manager Job
    • In your JSM instance, navigate to your Assets Data Manager section.
    • Create a new job and select the Microsoft Intune Adapter.
    • Configure the Data Manager Fields like Name, Object class and Data Source Name & Type.
    • Configure the Authentication fields by providing your Application (client) ID, Directory (tenant) ID, and the Client Secret you generated in Step 1.
    • Run the job to pull raw data into the Data Manager staging environment.
  3. Cleanse, Reconcile, and Import
    • Use Data Manager to cleanse your data (remove duplicates, handle missing values) and map your Intune attributes (e.g., device_name, serial_number, model) to your Assets Object Type attributes.
    • Push the transformed data from Data Manager into your designated JSM Assets Schema.

I hope this answers your question. 🙂

Thanks,
