Auto-Schedule in Plans for Jira Cloud is not moving dates for dependencies

Matt Riti

I have set up some Plans in my Jira Cloud instance and set the necessary settings under Plans to auto-schedule.  However, when I move a start or due date it is not automatically moving the successor work item's dates.  I have the dependencies set to 'blocks' / 'blocked by".  What can I do to get this to move the dates automatically?

Hello @Matt Riti

The Auto-schedule functionality of Plans does not include a feature to automatically changes dates based on other dates being changed directly within the work items.

Jira doesn't have a native pre-built solution for making those sorts of adjustments.

However, you may be able to implement a custom solution using Automation Flows. I wrote an article about that. You can find that article here:

Updating dependent task's dates when predecessor task date changes
