Let me start with, I love the new "Dark Mode". Trello was one of the only apps I used that did not have a dark mode, and now it does. Yay!
However, after the implementation of "Dark Mode" I can't seem to get some of the functionality I have use everyday to work.
I input cards on the fly all day long. I enjoyed being able to type #LabelName to assign a label to a card. On occassion I used the other "keys" that would allow me to add deadlines or assign people to a card.
That doesn't seem to work now.
Was this a design change or is it a bug?
Is there a different set of commands to do this while inputting cards?
Any information or help would be appreciated, as going into each card to set these items takes time. Not a lot, but it adds up.
Thanks,
Danny
@Danny Foreman This may work for you...
Hey Danny! Happy that you are enjoying dark mode!! ( ^‿^ )
Ohhh sorry to hear about that! The Trello product team has recently decided to remove the Card Composer Options feature. This feature allowed people to add members and labels to cards before they were created. While this feature was certainly useful for some users, it also represented pretty significant technical complexity and maintenance effort that didn't match up with how much it was being used.
There are still a few ways to use shortcuts to add members and labels to cards that we recommend:
1. You can use the 1-0 keys or the L key to apply labels to a card while hovering over it in the board view, or while a card is open.
2. The M key will let you add members to a card, also while hovering in the board view, or while the card is open.
Another useful shortcut: When creating a new card, type the card title then press Shift+Enter to create it (instead of Enter by itself). It will create and open the card at the same time. This makes the L and M shortcuts a bit more accessible!
Last, it may be worth having a look at our Automation tool to see if any of your regular label or member workflows could potentially be done automatically: https://trello.com/guide/automate-anything
I recognize that's not entirely ideal, but hopefully, those options give you a few different ways to speed up your workflows in Trello without those Card Composer Options.

Thank You for the response.
It is unfortunate that this has been removed. It was a great tool to use that increased productivity and creativity.
This change now slows me down, and breaks up my flow of thoughts and ideas.
Did the Atlassians's values change?
This decision doesn't seem to align with several of them.
Or, maybe they are just blurbs for the website.

I hear you, while a relatively small number of people used this feature regularly, it definitely feels like a disproportional impact on people like you that did. Our Product team looks for ways of changing/adding new features and adjustments from time to time and removing the Card Composer Options feature frees up some amount of maintenance effort that will hopefully lay a foundation for better card creation improvements in the future. I'm passing on your feedback to our dev team, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Please let me know if I can help with more details about the alternatives.
