Hi everyone,
Since the last Trello update, I have been struggling with the text editor. I find it nice that I can now edit my text (bold, italic and co) directly in the card description. It’s gonna take a bit of ‘’relearning’’ after no many years using markdown, but whatever.
However, my BIG issue is to make a new paragraph. Now by default, it’s adding a lot of space between lines. I can press shift+enter in order to jump a simple line, like it used to be. But do I really need to think about it every single time I write something in trello from now on? The thing is that I often copy text directly from a word document into a card description. The text formatting is obviously not the same in the word document, so all of my ‘’normal paragraphs’’ are automatically shifted into ‘’double paragraph’’ while paste in trello. Time consuming to rechange everything!
I know it might be possible to disable the new text formatting (right?), but I’m not sure I want to go back to markdown. But it should be possible to personalize the formatting no? How can I go back to normal paragraph? This is completely ruining my workflow.
Thank you for your answers
my name is ryan
Hello Natasha! How are you? Welcome to the Community!
Thank you for your feedback about the new editor. Indeed it can take a while to get used to it and explore its possibilities.
Yep! When you need to add a single paragraph by hitting the shift+enter.
You can check all the features for the new editor in this article:
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Trello-articles/New-Editor-in-Trello/ba-p/2038725
As we’re rolling it out gradually, you can opt to temporary disabling it by going to https://trello.com/my/labs and toggling on ‘WYSIWYG Editing' off.
Hope that can help you!
