Identifying participants in a next-gen project

I have setup a next-gen project as a kanban board.  There are issues/work-items on the board that I would like to include certain people for notification...similar to the "Participants" feature .  Is there a way to add certain people such as stakeholders to the notification list for specific Issues on the board...so they get proactively advised when items move or content is updated?

Hi @Jim Bottrell

Since you are on Nextgen projects, "Notifications" are not very customizable. You can add relevant people into 'Watchers' list in each issue:

However, for classic projects, you can go to Project Settings -> Notifications and add relevant people for any action that you want - like Issue Created, Updated etc.,

Thanks very much for this direction Lenin.  I think identifying the key stakeholder(s) as watchers sounds like it may do the trick.  Appreciated!  Jim.

Hello @Jim Bottrell

You can set notifications for any user to be updated when changes to issues occur. You can find the details on how to set these up here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/configuring-email-notifications-938847633.html

Thank you for this information Fernando but specifically I am asking about assigning people to be notified at the "Issue" level - not for the project as a whole.  This is a work items board where we log and track requests from a variety of people.  When adding a specific issue I would like to add certain people specific to that item that should receive updates and notifications to its status.

Perhaps this can only be done using service desk "tickets".  Seems limiting however.
