In Jira Next-Gen I would like an issue to be closed when a corresponding pull request is closed (or based on a commit message).
I was hoping to find something like GitHub for Jira that would work in Next-gen projects.
I seems to me that since Next-gen doesn't have "workflows" with "transitions" it's not possible to "Transition workflow state", which includes "Close an issue".
Set up Github to issue "transition issue" calls to Jira over REST.
Thank you @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- . Could you link to any documentation or other online resources that would help with this?

Are you perhaps referring to use GitHub Action - Jira Issue Transition because Github for Jira does not support Next-gen projects?
