I have a next-gen project and have set up Github integration but I don't see the Development tab.
Hello, what's the current status of using next-gen Jira projects with GitHub integration?
Hi Sam,
Just to make sure that we are on the same page, can you please give us more details about where the Development tab should appear?
I'm asking because I've tested on my test instance and the option "Open GitHub Development" appears and I would like to confirm if this is the option that is not appearing for you.
Regards,
Angélica

Where does it appear? I just setup GitHub integration and I see nothing different about my board or issues.

Hi @Mick,
When you open a ticket on the board, it will show the "GitHub Development":

Hey Angelica, sort of an old post but I can't seem to see that option on our jira (cloud version). Can you confirm next-gen projects should be able to see that github development section? (other regular projects on Jira have the integration working correctly).

Hi Ricard,
Yes, Github works with next-gen. Please, install both add-ons GitHub for Jira and Create GitHub Branches from Jira and after configuring, the development panel should appear.
If you face any issue, please let us know!

Angélica

Hi Angélica!
I am seeing the Development panel on the issues but the smart comments aren't having any effects. I've tested both #comment and #time.
Is there something that needs to be done to enable them?
Thanks!

Hi Brooke,
For smart commits to be processed, it's necessary that the email address that was used to send the commit message matches with the email in Jira.
You can find more details on the documentation below:

Hi Angelica,
I had already read that documentation thoroughly, so it doesn't help my issue.
I am logged in w/the same email address in both Jira and Github, and it doesn't work.
The commit gets linked to the ticket but the time tracking and comments, etc do not get applied.
Thanks,
~b

Hi Brooke,
To better investigate this issue, I created a ticket with our support, so they can access your instance to check what may be causing this issue.
You should have received a notification and soon someone will contact you.

Angélica
