Not able to setup Notification with OnDemand JIRA

Cindy Leevy March 1, 2014

Hi, I am having problem getting notification work with OnDemand JIRA.

With OnDemand JIRA, it seems there is no way to associate a project with user defined notification scheme. It's always associated with Default Notification.

Under the system->mail->outgoing email, it simply says 'enabled', there is no place to configure SMTP.

I tried to create a new issue, there is no email sent. I tried to send a test email through system->mail->send email, the email is successfully sent.

Can anyone help?

Thanks a lot.

I got the answer from another post - you need to do the following:

admin --> user --> preference --> check 'notify user for his own change'.

This is kind tricky, who will think about this? JIRA should set this as default.

ACtually, a lot of people have asked for this to set as "off" by default, as a lot of users complain about being emailed to tell them that they have just done something that is right on screen in front of them.
