We are users of Atlassian Cloud for Jira and Confluence.  Like any organization should, we mandate that our employees and contributors use strong passwords for any work related application.  We are currently on the free trial of Atlassian Access, which will end in September.  We are not using Atlassian access for SSO we are only using it to enforce password complexity.

If we decide to not move forward with Atlassian Access, what mechanism do we have to ensure our employees/contributors are making use of strong passwords?  What are the default password complexity requirements for Jira Cloud services?

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!
Currently, only Atlassian access provides password policy and if it's not set, the requirement for the users will be a password length of 8 to 100 characters.
You can find more details on the documentation below:
- Password policies
We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of the ability to have password policies without Atlassian access:
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature.

Regards,
Angélica
