Can a bug be entered into Bonfire without creating an issue in Jira?

Ted Morgan October 24, 2012

Would like to be able to track bugs in Bonfire without having to create and assign a Jira issue. The goal being to aggregate a group of Bonfire bugs (many of which may be duplicates from different testers) into one Jira issue.

Possible?

You could do it with Session Notes.

That is, have the testers all join a single shared test session. When they encounter bugs, they can enter them as session notes. Then later, once the session is complete, someone can go through, collate the results and raise them as bugs.

That said, I personally find it much easier to have everyone raise the bugs as bugs and just to close the duplicates later; that way if there are no duplicates there's no work left for me to do. If the testers aren't creating the bugs directly then there'll always be work remaining for the organiser afterwards.
