Filter for which issues are on the board and in the backlog of a next gen kanban project?

Is there a way in JIRA filters to differentiate between issues which are on the board of a next gen Kanban project and those that are in the backlog of a next gen Kanban project?

Hi @Sam Davyson - I think the only way to accomplish this in next-gen Kanban is to create a label for backlog issues, which you can then use in your JQL filter. 

This probably isn't ideal, but I can't think of a better way to do it.

I've spent about 2 hours looking for the ability to do that @Sam Davyson is asking and I can confirm there is no way to do so at this time. Unless I'm missing something...
