How do you specify which automation rule triggers a second rule?

Jodi Hafen May 26, 2021

I understand there's a way to have one rule trigger another one to run, and I see the checkbox to do that, but how do I specify which rule needs to run to trigger the 2nd one?

Thanks.

Hi @Jodi Hafen and welcome to Community!

As far as I know, it's not possible to specify which rule needs to run to trigger the 2nd one. The only way to trigger a rule from another one is to have something like:

  • Rule one edits a custom field
  • Rule two is triggered when the custom field value changes

Hope this helps,

I see how that could work, but I don't see all of my fields when choosing a "field value change" trigger.  Is there a way to make all of them show up as options to trigger?

Thanks so much!
