Hi @Alex ,

in the link type within JIRA there's a direction (inward or outward) https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/configuring-issue-linking-938847862.html

Clone is an inward direction

is cloned by is an outward direction

Hoep this helps,

Fabio

here is my take...

the two are mated...

Clone <--> Clone by

When you clone an issue it would illustrate it's clone and the clone would illustrate the issue that cloned it.

ABC-123 references Clone ABC-124

ABC-124 references Clone by ABC-123
