way to view history of a task

I know I have seen a tab on a screen for a task that listed histories.  It would show the elaborate histories (priority changed by whom, etc.).  Now the tab is nowhere to be found.  Please help.

Hello,

Are you on Cloud or Server? If you are on Cloud and you are using the New Issue View then there is only one tab available at a time, you need to switch between tabs:

I'd like to propose the solution - the add-on Issue History for Jira Cloud (link).

It shows the history of all changes that had been made with specific issues.

Plug-in allows:
- Get the changes log ordered by the date.
- Use filters to select issues list.
- Set columns to show different fields on the report grid.
- Apply custom date range to filter results.

At the Atlassian Marketplace you can get more information about the add-on and try the trial version of it.
