sub task status reverted to TO DO

We are using JIRA kanban.

Two of our team members opened a task with numerous subtasks underneath. These subtasks were in various stages from IN PROGRESS to DONE. However, we discovered today. They have all reverted to TO DO.

Has anyone else had this happen and what did you do?

Try to find these subtasks, switch to the old view mode, and check the status change records.
