Hi all,
We work with continues delivery, so we don't have actual releases or release moments. Before I started at my company two weeks ago, the one who took care of the release notes left and no one picked it up. So there's no information send to the clients about changes in the product.
I wanted to pick up the release notes, but when i followed a step by step guide (https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/creating-release-notes-938847219.html) it said to click on 'release notes' in the release. But since we don't have actual releases, this isn't an option for me.
Is there a simple way to get the notes from jira in my situation or should i check every two weeks (that is the frequency at which I want to share the notes) what changed and do it by hand? And if so, how would I do this?
I just started in it and literally everything is new so sorry if i ask question that are obvious for others.
Thanks in advance!
@Froukje van de Weg we had the same issue with continuous releases.
So when we built Released, to generate release notes from your Jira tickets, we made sure that it's super easy to include all issues that were resolved since the last release.
Try the demo to see if that's what you are after.
Released allows you to publish your release notes to Confluence, your website, or notify people internally through Slack of major releases.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Cheers,
Jens
Hi @Froukje van de Weg , this is Sujeet from Amoeboids. We have an app in Atlassian marketplace that can serve your use case - Automated release notes for Jira.
Here you can generate release notes in different formats such as Email, PDF, Confluence, Slack, PowerPoint etc. and automate their delivery to relevant stakeholders through rule Automation.
Just last week we released this help video that I belive talks exactly about your use case.
If you are on cloud, we even have a free version of this app to get you started quickly.
Do check out and reach out here if you need any further information.
Thanks,
Sujeet

Hi @Froukje van de Weg -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
As the person who handled release notes earlier has left, please consider discussing with your team how it worked before. Specifically, you may want to learn:
Knowing this may help you decide how to proceed, and what to improve. Perhaps even making a page for interested people to go see (i.e., pull) the release notes rather than pushing them out as notifications. The "push" model could be saved for more exceptional notifications, such as major releases or outages.
Kind regards,
Bill

Hi Bill,
Thanks for your welcome and your advice. It is a bit messy atm here because of many changes in staff etc. But I will follow your advice, i like the idea of a page for interested. I will definatly discuss this.
