"Rich filters" on Free Jira (cloud)

Should I indeed install the app "Rich Filters"? I am using Free Jira (cloud) version.

I want to manage these types of settings:

I have installed the app "Rich Filters", but now I am thinking why do I install this app at all?

Is it possible not to install the app and get the same possibility to play with menus like:

Rich Filter ControllerRich Filter Results (see on the screen)?

Why am I asking? Some apps should not be installed to play with settings (like here), but I do have to install some, like "Rich Filters."

So what is the difference between apps?

Are there any differences between the "Rich Filters" app and the "Automation app"?

I hope you get what I am saying here :D

Kindly help me understand the differences.

Hi @max

As Atlas monster mentions, do you need to have those rich filters? Rich filters is a plugin. It adds some functionality that vanilla Jira doesn't have.

Jira does have filtering, dashboards and stuff you can use out of the box. Have you tested them?

You mentioned automation. Automation comes out of the box for Jira cloud. It allows you to automate things like copying field values, what happens when you move to another status, and other things like that.

They aren't even remotely similar. They do very different things.

Let's start on the big picture. Why you needed the Rich filter, what are you trying to solve here?

Atlassian have some basic gadgets of their own. I suggest you check them out and see if they will be sufficient for your use case.
