Hmm. Either your installation of Jira is broken, you are using an incompatible JVM or you may have a plugin that is providing a custom field but is incompatible with your version of Jira.
Could you tell us
- What version of Jira you are using
- What version of Java you are running it on
- A rough outline of how you installed it (e.g. "It's Jira standalone, I followed the docs and hooked it up to a MySQL database")
- It might also be useful if you can give us the information on your Admin -> System Information page too - specifically the "plugins", "modified files" and any environment details you've got.
