"Blocks" and "Is blocked by" relation seems to be inverted

Arnaud ROYER January 26, 2023

Hello. Lastly, I have seen that some links between tasks seem to be broken in the Advanced Roadmap. In this example, the right order is Task 1 > Task 2 > Task 3.

In other words:

  • Task 1 blocks Task 2
  • Task 2 is blocked by Task 1 and blocks Task 3
  • Task 3 is blocked by Task 2

In the Plan view, it's completely messy. The lines are in the wrong direction.

Did I miss something or is it a bug?

@Arnaud ROYER

Check to see how your issue linking is configured in your system administration. Navigate to Administration -> Issues -> Issue Linking.

For the Blocks relationship, please confirm that your outward description is blocks and your inward description is is blocked by.

I don't know why but the relation switches regularly. I have to change it back manually every time.

Any idea why it changes by itself?

I would raise a ticket with Atlassian.. it appears other people are seeing the same issue - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/quot-Blocks-quot-and-quot-Is-Blocked-By-quot-Inverting/qaq-p/2254922.
