Hi

I am currently using a company-managed Jira project setup. I wanted to streamline my request submission. Can someone tell me where to set up pre-populated template text input for epic/bug?

Hi @Jacqueline N McCluer , thanks for your question.

It depends a little bit on which fields you are talking about. If any of the fields to create a Bug or an Epic are custom fields, you can set what is called a custom field context, which allows you to set a default value in a specific context, like a project or issue type.

If you want to have this type of functionality for native Jira fields, like the Summary or Description, you can use an app like Behaviours in ScriptRunner, but this would be at an additional cost -Behaviours - ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud | Atlassian Marketplace

To add a custom field context, navigate to the system settings, then issues, and custom fields.

Choose a custom field and click on the ... and choose the option, 'Contexts and default value'

Here, clicking on 'Edit Default Value', you can set a default value and you can also set a configuration where this default is applcable, if you don't want this to be the default value in all projects.

I hope this gives you some ideas but if you need more help, please just comment here and either I or someone else will get back to you.

Cheers
