So we have a user who left the business about a fortnight ago, and we have received a notification to their work email that they have requested to delete their atlassian account. my question is, what happens to all their worklogs, projects, etc when this account is deleted? we need to keep worklog info for reporting purposes.

Have a look at this support article for more details on the process, what is deleted and what not. Where the user is linked to past data, the reference to the user will be displayed as former user.
Hi Walter. thanks for coming back to me so quickly. Please correct me if i've misunderstood, but does that mean a managed user can request that their account be deleted, and this is done automatically by atlassian? ie we as admins don't need to do anything to complete this request?
