jira Issue Security Scheme: Restrict Roles from issues

Hello Community,

I really need help setting up issue security. The case is:

- Project with 3 roles: Admin, Product Owner and Client

- Issue security: Admin and Product Owner should see everything, Client should only see issues with the label "Client"

- Automation to achieve the label restriction is set up like: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Is-there-a-way-to-set-issue-permissions-based-on-Label-in-a/qaq-p/2357350

- The Problem now: I can't seem to find the field Security level in the issue layout, I can also not add it into the layout

Why can't I add the field issue security to the layout of the issues for the project?

Thank you,
Nicole

Hello @Nicole Zimmermann

Is this for a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? Issue Security Schemes apply only to Company Managed projects. Team Managed projects implement issue security differently.

If you are in a Company Managed project you need to make sure the the Security Level field is included in the Field Configurations used by the issue types of the project, and make sure that it has not been marked as Hidden in those configurations.

Then you need to make sure that the field has been added to the Screens that are used by the issues in the project.

Hello Trudy!

It is a Company Managed Project. Thanks ou for your answer, I will have a look at this and maybe reach back to you in case of any questions.
