Is it possible to create subtasks that are documentation? In other words, is it possible to

1) convert an existing Documentation issue type to "Documentation (Sub task)" by configuring Jira so this category is shown on below list?

2) create Subtask with issue type "Documentation (Sub task)"

Thanks in advance for your "HOW TO CONFIGURE" help!

Adding to this...

Hello @Katja Einer-Jensen

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

If you have already created issues of the type "Documentation" do not delete the Documentation issue type. Jira will make you change those to another issue type.

You can create a new subtask issue type for use in Company Managed projects, if you are a Jira Administrator. If you are not a Jira Administrator then you will have to get help from such a person.

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/add-edit-and-delete-an-issue-type/

After the new subtask issue type is created, you can Convert the existing Documentation issue to the Documentation Subtask issue type.

In this process you will have to identify the issue that will become the parent of the subtasks, because subtasks are required to have a parent. You can also specify the specific subtask issue type to which the issue will be changed.

Note that creating addition subtask issue types is available only for Company Managed projects. Team Managed projects can have one and only one subtask issue type.

Hi @Katja Einer-Jensen

Issue Type name is unique on your instance.

An issue Type cannot be converted from standard to sub-task; you need to delete the standard and then create the sub-task.

Here a documentation page which may help.

Regards
