how use JavaScript select a value in this dropdown menu

I need to use JavaScript to automatically select a value in this dropdown menu, but I'm not sure how to manipulate it. I tried using the click function to simulate a click, but it didn't work. Is there any API that provides a method for setting the value? thanks.
