how to add subtasks in JIRA timeline

Rey Torres November 13, 2024

Hello all.
I am new to JIRA roadmap/timeline and would like to know if someone has added subtasks to Jira roadmap /timeline successfully and what are the steps?

We basically want to see in the roadmap below structure.

EPICS
   STORIES
Subtasks (currently hidden in the view)

Thank you for your advanced help.

Hi @Rey Torres, welcome to the community!

If you're using a Free subscription and want to see a full timeline of Epics -> Stories -> Subtasks, you may consider our plugin TeamBoard ProScheduler for Jira developed by DevSamurai. It has no feature limitations for any subscriptions and is free for teams with less than 10 users.

I hope this helps, and let me know if you need more information.

Hello @Rey Torres

The tags on your post indicate you are using a Free subscription. Is that correct?

If you are using a Free or Standard subscription then the native Timeline feature is not capable of displaying subtasks.

That functionality is available only in the advanced Timeline available in the Plans feature which is part of the Premium and Enterprise subscriptions.
