create ticket automatically from one e-mail address to different projects

Ralf Kleber February 21, 2016

Hello.

One customer from us have different companies. The support from customer want to send us mails to open tickets in our JIRA system. But the support from customer is not aible to send us mails for different companies to different mail addresses.

Is it possible to use one mail address and JIRA open the ticket in different projects? For example use a keyword in the subject or else and JIRA can decide which project?

Or is it possible to create the ticket in one project and than automatically route this ticket to an other project (identifier by a keyword in the subject or anything else).

Best regards

Ralf

Here're some pointers:

You can do the routing at mail server level i.e. create separate mailboxes for each project and make a rule that routes the mails to the proper mailbox when received by the "common" mailbox.

or

Create different folders in the "common" mailbox and route the mail into the proper folder with server rules, then configure JIRA mail handler to get mails from the correct folder.
