Hi @Sharon Ross _Non EHR Application Lead_ and welcome to the Communtiy!

I am not sure where or how you would like to associate comments with a filter, to be honest. If you save a filter, you could add a description to it (which might be useful to explain what the filter is for):

That must be the closest thing I can think of to add additional information to a filter.

Hope this helps - could you provide a bit more context about what you are trying to achieve if it doesn't?

Hi @Sharon Ross _Non EHR Application Lead_

welcome to the community!

Just to understand what you're after: Are you looking to add comments as a column to your list of issues (i.e., filter result)?

To the best of my knowledge, that's not natively possible. I've seen people use Jira Automation to copy the last comment into a custom field, and then add the custom field to your filter columns - however this would complicate your setup quite a bit.

Alternatively, if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you'll have more options. I'll add more information below.

Hope this helps,

Best,

Hannes

... and to expand on my last point: If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, this would be easy to do using the app that my team and I are working on: JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a long list of so-called smart columns that aren’t natively available, including the last comment (along with many other comment-related columns).

This is how it looks in action:

As you can see above, you can easily sort and filter by the last comment, and also use it across JXL's advanced features, such as support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.

Any questions just let me know!
